There is no question that our high school youth are extended more than ever before! There are countless activities and sports they can be involved in during their high school years. We strive to provide a program that gives something different than what they would get in the secular world. They learn to think critically about their faith, contemporary issues, and topics relative to their lives. They have opportunities to live out their faith in many ways.
Abraham’s Tent is a ministry where we work with the First Baptist Church and house homeless men for a week. We provide food and a safe comfortable atmosphere. This is done with the support of Columbus House in New Haven.
Midnight Run is a ministry were we deliver food and clothes to the homeless on the streets of NYC under the direction of a guide. You can check out their website Midnightrun.org
Homeless Night is an event where our youth will be sleeping in cardboard boxes outside to really appreciate what it means to be homeless. There will be speakers and activities as well.
High School Transition Group is a group for high school seniors. This is an exciting and scary time for our seniors and this group is a support group to help seniors during this part of their life journey. We meet once
a month and go over life skills such as budgeting, financial management, time management, cooking class, as well as a support group for the seniors.
Families are a crucial part of our church family. In these busy times we realize that you have many options for activities. We ask that you give us the opportunity to be part of your children’s lives and spiritual growth. This is a wonderful time for fellowship and for your children to experience that church can be fun. We share in each others' joys and concerns. Our children who grow up in the church will often say it is an extended family.
Several families from our church participated in our Ronald McDonald Mission. Ronald McDonald House is a "home away from home" for families with severely ill children receiving care in local hospitals. We cooked food for these families who have critically ill children and need extra support.
