FCCB Candidating Weekend Schedule of Events

The Pastoral Search Committee is excited to give you the schedule of events which have been planned to allow you to meet and greet the Rev. Joseph Perdue and his wife, Julia. Candidating Weekend events are planned for October 24 and 25th, 2020 and are designed to keep everyone in safe environments. We look forward to seeing all of you - either in your cars or on a Zoom meeting. Please pick from the list below, the times and places which best fit your schedule.

Saturday Morning, October 24, 9:30am – 12:00 pm Drive through Meet and Greet

Rev. Joe and Julia will be outside in the church circle greeting members who drive in. Have your masks ready when you roll down the windows.

Saturday Afternoon October 24, 2:00pm – 4:00pm Zoom Social Meet and Greet

Rev. Joe and Julia will be hosting small group chats on Zoom from the safety of your own home. Please call the church at (203) 488-7201 and leave a message or email Missy at by no later than October 21, saying you would like to participate in a small group chat and how many people will be in your party. Please leave the best way to contact you – email address or phone #. The PSC will then schedule you, and call or email you with your 15-minute time slot. The zoom link will be sent this week. When you log onto the link you will be in a waiting room (like at worship time). Be patient, you might need to wait a short time.

Sunday Morning October 25, 10:00 am Zoom Worship Service

Rev. Joseph Perdue will lead us in our morning Zoom worship service, assisted by our music staff, our Virtual Choir and David Colley, Liturgist. (The Zoom link will be sent this week.)

Special All Church Meeting Immediately following Worship to vote on the PSC’s Candidate

Immediately following worship, Moderator William Hall will call a Special Meeting of the Congregation to Order for the purpose of voting to accept the candidate for our Settled Senior Minister.

Assuming the vote goes well, there will be a
Celebration Parade Immediately following the Meeting (shhhhh: Joe and Julia do not know about this event!)

Following the meeting, we encourage
all FCCB members to drive to the church where a celebration parade circling the church grounds will take place. Plan ahead by making signs of welcome, decorate your car and meet us on South Main St. The parade route will proceed up Taintor Dr, down to Main St, turn onto Blackstone Ave (between the Baptist Church). Be sure to honk your horn and wave to Rev. Joe and Julia as you pass by. They will be the ones with BIG smiles on their faces!
